Åsmund Erichsen (b. 2001) is a composer based in Oslo, with a focus on deep, “slow-like,” and textural soundscapes. He has written music for film, contemporary dance, and various chamber ensembles, and will complete his bachelor’s degree in composition at the Norwegian Academy of Music in the spring of 2026. His works have been performed at venues such as the ULTIMA Festival, Sonisk Hage, and Gamle Festsal in Oslo.
In addition to concert music, he has created soundtracks for several indie short films and dance performances, which have been presented at, among others, the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, Rom for Dans, and the West Nordic International Film Festival. Erichsen also co-curated the concert resonance / resonate at ULTIMA in 2024.
As a filmmaker, he has collaborated with composers such as Wei Ting Tseng and Ola Ur Sæbø, creating concept films and recordings of their works. In addition, Erichsen has produced his own video works, including “SNARE – from the perspective of the 80’s” (2025) and a film adaptation of the piece “kva er stort, kva er smått no?” (2024).
